Evacuation

September 2010

Evacuation was released on Xbox Live Indie Games on September 9th, 2010. You can snag a copy now if you'd like, over at the App Hub or on your Xbox 360. Anyway, Evacuation was a small project by Fathombrook Studio over the summer of 2010 which blends elements of strategy, puzzle solving, and action into what can almost be described as a reverse tower defense game. The city is being overrun by mutants and it's up to you to save as many civilians as you can. Working in a small team, everyone tends to do multiple jobs. For Evacuation I served as the primary 3D artist. That means that I modeled and textured the city environments (the levels). I also contributed some code for optimizing render sorting, character animation (which we ended up not using), and some custom effects shaders written in HLSL.
