When music is more than background filler. When the sound comes alive. When it grabs you.
I was going to submit this idea for the official logo of the XMMS2 player, but the deadline had already passed by the time I saw that they had actually opened for submissions. I liked the idea and still wanted to make the image. Originally I had planned to make it in a three-tone vector art style for the logo, but now that this image was just for me I decided to create it in Maya and go for a photo-realistic look and feel.
